Greenbury Point Conservation Area

Greenbury Point is a very popular destination for recreational birdwatchers in the area and is listed as a Birding Hotspot in Anne Arundel County.

This participatory science project was created through the iNaturalist platform in 2020 to document the variety of plants, animals and fungi found at the Greenbury Point Conservation Area.

Greenbury Point, located at the mouth of Severn River in Anne Arundel County, is Navy property managed by Naval Support Activity (NSA) Annapolis as a mission-supportive natural resources conservation area. It also serves as a popular hiking destination for nature lovers, runners and dog walkers.

The Sikes Act requires most military installations within the United States to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for natural resource conservation and management (e.g., fish and wildlife, forestry, land management, outdoor recreation) on the installation.
